Speakers World Conference
We would like to introduce you to the third wave of speakers for our World Conference on Monday.
Daan Quakernaat (1966) is a speaker by profession. He studied Artificial Intelligence at the faculty of philosophy at Utrecht University in the Netherlands. Since then he has been looking for balance, between man and machine, between fear and control, between passion and structure.
Over the years Daan Quakernaat has given more than 750 talks for businesses and government departments. Daan is a real performer, with humour and his snappy style he will challenge you to think alternatively, and give you food for discussion and thought later on.
The theme of Daan’s session is “Building Cathedrals!” The cathedral Daan is talking about is a metaphor for any bold project. Challenges and problems are all around us and we should be trying to solve these. We should be building cathedrals, we should be trying new ways of doing things, making mistakes, learning from them, moving ahead step by step towards new horizons. But instead we are spending more and more time trying to control everything. Control is a good thing. But if you we want to know everything upfront, if you want to manage out risk completely and are not willing to try the unknown, you are turning the world upside down. That type of control is killing the passion and means to innovate and grow. Building Cathedrals! is a story about our fears and trying things that might not work (right away).
Severine Demaude (student) won the CIBSE Scotland Student Poster Competition.
Additionally EasyIO (Johan, Mike and Lim) will explain where the company is heading for the future so you can see the road ahead with us.
